TRADITION
Helsinki Heart Stone is also known as the Hope Stone. It is a traditional site where prayers are offered to spare the life of a loved one living in the shadow of death.
IN LIFE
Prayers are written out, burned at the site and the ashes mixed into white paint which is then applied to the Stone.
IN DEATH
Anyone may also ask for a spoonful of their cremated remains to be painted onto the Stone. They then help carry the prayers to the Land of the Dead.
The Stone may be freely used in the manner described above.
It is held by all in common.
Please meet it with due respect, and take all your litter home.
